Safari Booking

Safari permits MUST be booked online in advance via the official GID website. Permits sell out months in advance for weekends and holidays. Ensure your permits are confirmed before booking your travel.

Travel Distance

Gir is located approximately 350 km from Ahmedabad. The drive takes about 7 hours. We recommend an early morning departure to reach Gir by afternoon, allowing you to settle in for an evening safari or relaxing evening.

Park Closures

Note that the Gir National Park (main safari) remains closed for visitors from 16th June to 15th October every year during the monsoon season. Plan your trip between November and May for the best sightings.
